Gazing up

It's an everlasting flame, the one that always burns.
The reoccurring dream, the memory which returns.
That memory returns around this time of year.
A memory that I cherish, something I hold dear.
Of a moment o so magical, I can hardly explain why.
That short moment of perfection, it got burned onto my eye.
Now that the time grows nearer a feeling suddenly appears
An intense feeling of longing that brings me close to tears.
It's the feeling I should go away, away from all the lights.
A longing to be on a boat and gaze up at starry nights.
Gaze up and hold her near me, the one that stole my heart.
Gaze up together and both wish that we will never part.

The Dance

Every time we meet, we always do the same.
We move around in circles, it's like a silly game.
I'll take one step forward and you'll step to the side.
Whenever I start running, you'll just stop and hide.
Everyone who sees us together, will look at us and say...
Such a lovely couple, when all we do is play.
We dance closely together, we smile, we laugh, we flirt.
No one dares to go any further, too afraid we might get hurt.
Why don't we stop this silly game and finally take a chance.
Let us both start living and stop this childish dance.

Pain

The pain of losing is hard to bare
but in your heart they're always there.
That pain will stay and won't subside
at first in the open, but then it will hide.
It will jump out and grab you from out of the blue
and when that happens there's only one thing to do...
Embrace that pain, shout out and cry
because when you forget, that's when they really die.

Remember

People come and people go
that is something we all know
the bad can go the good ones stay
but sometimes the best will go away
they leave too soon, it goes so fast
that's why those memories will have to last
not just the good ones, also the bad
forgetting anything would be so sad
remember everything, don't ever forget
'cause when you remember, no one is really dead.

Stupid Mistakes

It's all you can think about and it won't let you go.
It wasn't a very smart thing to do, but because of it you can grow.
You've grown a little wiser and have learned from your mistakes.
You only needed to accept it, that's all it ever takes.
Don't be afraid to mess up again, standing still won't help at all.
Leaping in headfirst is better, that's how you'll lose your fear to fall.
Naturally things don't always go as planned, they hardly ever do.
But when your not afraid of failure, it'll not be something new.
So get back on your feet again, don't be ashamed of things that have passed.
Look hopeful to your future. The shame will fade and your pride will outlast.

A New Direction

It's like finding yourself at a fork in the road.
Which way do you go? The sign don't help, they all say the same thing.
Whatever direction you take you'll end up somewhere unknown.
There are no guarantees that you'll will like the outcome of whatever path you take.
But the goals the paths lead to are all the same.
But which one do you take? And does it really matter?
I think it does.
Even-though the roads all lead to the same goal, which path you take can influence you a great deal.
Will you take the short cut? so you'll be there very quick? Or maybe the scenic route so you can take in the sights.
The road less traveled could be more your cup of tea if you're the adventurous type.
Or is it the path of least resistance that draws you in?
Each path tells you a about who you are and what you're made of.
And each path will give you different experiences in return.
So which path is the best? If there is such a thing.
Can you switch paths or do you have to stay your course?
Will you live your life regretting that you have chosen the wrong path?
Do you really have to choose only one path?
One thing is clear and that is that the only way is forward.
One path two or all of them it doesn't matter how many or which you choose, as long as you make a choice.
make a choice and take that new direction.
But which path will I take?

Slap in the Face?

Even-though it was a secret, I've known it for a while.
And when you finally told me, I took it with a smile.
Is it a fling or something serious, I couldn't really care less.
It's not because you don't matter, It's because you do, I guess.
I really wish you well and I hope it will workout.
And if it doesn't, it's his fault, that I can say without a doubt.
Not feeling upset right now won't be something I'll regret.
Because the time we had together is something I'll never forget.

Desparate pleas for attention.

It's nothing new, it's been there a while.
This feeling is nice, it makes me smile.
It's just that I'm not sure what I'm to do.
Do I need to wait, or do I have to pursue.

Shall I play it smooth and really slow?
Or would that just annoy you and make you say NO!
Do I have a shot or is my mind playing tricks.
Are you for real? Or is it just for kicks.

I need to know what it is, I'm going insane!
You've got nothing to lose and so much to gain.
So just tell me what I want to hear and you better say it quick.
'Cause I can't stand another minute not knowing, it really makes me sick.

It won't be much trouble, it'll only take a sec.
But when you do, you won't regret, you'll never want to go back.
So come over quick, phone or write before things go amiss.
Then tell me want I need to hear and we'll start it with a kiss.

The Kissing Scale

In this digital age we text and mail all day.
Loved ones, friends, lovers, we all send them our love.

But what we send and what we receive has more meaning than you think.

This is what we send and what we say when we send it.

xoxo are hugs and kisses for a friend or family member when you want to send your love.

:-x is the kissing face. A fun way to show your affection. It has many variations, but always means the same.
Love is shown, but it will always be less personal than the others that will be discussed here later.

x is a kiss to someone dear to you, but just a small one. More personal than the kissy face.
Just enough so the otherone knows you care.

X is a bigger kiss. You want to make sure they know how you feel about them.
You obviously care a lot.

Kiss is, when written in full, a means to let someone know that they are very high on your list.

Not something you send to a relative. You purposely chose to type out the whole word.
You could probably say that you have feelings for this person that go beyond friendship.

When you're at the receiving end of a text and you really like that person.
You'll hope it'll end with a "Kiss"...

Moral Support

Sometimes when you're blue and feeling down, someone can cheer you up with just the right words.
Sometimes it's family, it can be a friend or maybe it's a neighbour. Even strangers can lift your spirit.
Some people are able to do this more effectively than others.
Sometimes it's because they're are wise and know exactly what to say.
It can also be that all you needed was pat on the shoulder or a hug.
Some people however have a power over you that few others have.
It's when these people show that they care that it can really make a huge difference.
When they tell you it'll turn out allright, you instantly believe it.
When they say there's no need to worry, you won't worry anymore.
When they wish you a good night, you'll sleep like a baby.
That person can make or break your day.
Just a text can make you feel lighter than air.
That's when you know that person is special to you.
Let's just hope you won't need to be cheered up by anyone else...

Bad Decision, Worse Decision‏

Sometimes were caught in a place with, it seems, no good way out.
Should you go and break someones heart or stay and be unhappy yourself.
But why live a lie, why stick around if all there is, is hurt and pain?
Is it that tears have such power over you that it stops you from
thinking clearly?
Is it because you fear what will become of you after you make that
decision?
Is it because it's just convenient to know that there is someone who
cares.
Because you fear going at it all alone?
It's the third option that liberates you, it sets you free.
For it is only when you realize that you ultimately live your life to
serve your own needs, it's then you know what has to be done.
It won't be a bad decision, maybe just a little bit of a sad decision.
But in the end, it's the best decision you can make.

The End of the End

It's hard to understand that love can end.
It's brutal that it can leave you broken hearted with the feeling
something died inside of you.
It can bring down even the strongest of men.
It can make you feel so small and insignificant that you start to
think that you don't matter at all in this world.
That is until you fall in love again.
At first it will scare you shitless.
You have experienced from first hand that love can end.
You have been hurt before and you have felt the agony and despair of
being left behind.
Love however isn't only blind, it makes you forget.
Love can make the baddest day feel okay.
Love can make vinegar taste like fine wine.
Love can make you feel so incredibly alive like nothing else in this
world can do.
That is why you can take that risk, that is why you get back on the
horse, that is why you will dive in headfirst once you find it again.
Because some love is never ending.

Average

It's not good, it's not bad, it's somewhere in between.
It's not the best, it's not the worst, it's just something you have
seen.
It's what nobody aspires, yet what most of us will be.
It's what everybody knows, but nobody wants to see.
It's what no one wants to hear and no one ever tells.
It's the fact that you're not special, just like everybody else.

Surroundings

Lying awake in a strange new bed.
Listening for sounds when I should be sleeping instead.
Everything is different, like the way that the sheets smell.
From the sights out the window to the sound of the doorbell.
Those kind of things might make you scream and shout...
I want things back to normal! Why did I move out?
That decision has been made, there's simply nothing you can do.
You just have to accept the change, even if you're feeling blue.
They might keep you from your sleep, but there's no more need to roam.
The new surroundings are strange, as that new place is your home.
That feeling will subside, they can hardly ever last.
Before long the strange surroundings will be just a thing of the past.

Thursday, March 4, 2010

Attached

We're all attached to someone.
Father, mother, brother, sister,
friend, colleague, lover.
Attachment to people is normal.
It's because we can interact with them.

But other than people you also have attachments to places and objects.
These things don't talk back but can give you a certain feeling nothing else in the world can give you.
A feeling of belonging, of being home.

To leave such an attachment behind is tough.
It makes you feel empty inside, like losing someone dear to you.
You take one last look around and take a stroll down memory-lane.
It's a sad thing to leave it behind, but you'll still be forever attached.

Move

Boxes far and boxes near.
Some to take with, others to disappear.
What can go and what can stay,
A decision I'll make another day.

Leaving here is very hard and tough,
But in this case enough is just enough.
Sure I'm sorry and I'm sad that I'm going,
I'm making a new start, that's something worth knowing.

A fresh start elsewhere, for me all alone.
A home, a shelter, a place to call my own.
First it'll be weird, the first nights that I'm there.
All the strange new sound may be more than I can bare.

It's something to get used to, something to endure.
I'll eventually call it home, of that I'm very sure.
I have high hopes for all the things that will improve.
But it's still a sad thought that I really have to move.

High Hopes

You look forward to it, you know it's possible.
The preparations were optimal, everything worked out to the finest detail.
As the moment draws near the adrenaline rises.
You can barely keep your nerves under control, but you manage.
This is what you have lived for, the moment of truth just seconds away.
It's almost too much to bare, but nothing can keep you away from this, the ultimate goal.
Gold!

Reasons

It's something you can't explain, it just is.
You feel you need to do it and nobody can tell you otherwise.
The urge is so strong, it is almost like an addiction.
Yet it is something you can go without if you simply can't find the time.
If somebody would ask you why, you wouldn't be able to answer.
Why does this urge, this drive, this feeling need explaining anyway?
People are always looking for reasons, even if there are none.
Somethings just are.

So Close, But Yet So Far

It's so close you can almost reach it.
That one time your lucky numbers won the lottery,
you just didn't buy a ticket 'cause you forgot.
That time you responded to an ad in the newspaper,
only to find out someone else has beaten you to the punch seconds earlier.
Or when you are in a great scoring position when the clock runs out on you.

Those are the most frustrating moments live can throw at you.
But not to worry, things will eventually fall your way.

OMGWITHTM!

We've all been there, that awkward moment.
The embarrassing situation.
The moment you wished you didn't exist.
That "O my god, why is this happening to me!" moment.

Well it's never funny when you're the one living it.
You keep looking for that hole in the floor to disappear in.
Or the aliens landing, taking all the eyes off of you.
But sometimes standing next to someone living that moment,
sometimes it can be the funniest thing you'll ever see.

28 Days

28 days, that's 2419200 seconds.
28 days, that's 40320 minutes.
28 days, that's 672 hours.
28 days, that's 4 weeks.
28 days, that's February.

The odd one out.
The runt of the litter.
The one that confuses the hell out of everyone once every four years.
The one with the Winter Olympics.

Life Sucks Anyway!

Sometimes life gives you lemons.
It sucks but it happens.
And like they say, you can always make lemonade.

Bad things happen in life, there's just no way around it.
It's not how bad those things really are, but how you deal with it what makes them bad.
People fall ill, you get fired, You'll wreck your car or get a huge bill.
Sitting in a corner and crying never helped anyone.
I'm not saying you shouldn't cry, I'm just saying that just being sad isn't the answer.

For every bad thing that happens other good things will also happen.
You sometimes have to look for them but they're there.
When someone close to you falls ill, take the opportunity to get to know that person.
In those short intense moments you'll get to know more than in a lifetime.
When you lose your job, it will give you the time to pursue other interests.
Wreck your car but be glad your still in one piece.
And that huge bill might not look so great when you have to pay it, but there was something you got for it in return. Just remember that.

And yes to all of you people who can't find a positive side to it all,
when you're going to die just think... Life sucks anyway!

Nervous

You look at the clock, it isn't time yet.
You know the time will be there soon.
You have to eat but nothing seems to go down.
You feel the tension growing every second.

Time goes by so slow and you sit around waiting.
Waiting for the moment to get up and go.
You bag is packed, but are you sure that it's all there?
You double check everything, unpack and repack the bag.

It's time to leave now, grab your stuff and go.
Go to the car, bike, bus or whatever means you use to get there.
You put some music on to get you pumped.
When you arrive you go right to the dressing room.

Nobody can distract you now, you're in the zone.
It's time to change, you put on your gear and wait.
You wait for the coach to finish talking.
You wait for the moment you can go out there and the game to start
You're nervous, but it feels great!

Getting Over It

It's been quite a while now.
Things have changed for the best.
Yet I can't imagine how,
this won't all be just a test.

You're on my mind all day long.
It's better to ignore, I know.
But I'm reminded by every song,
They are playing on the radio.

I'm scared of things that are to come.
Not a lot, but just a little bit.
It's better to feel bad than to be numb.
It was much harder getting over it.

Seven

Seven seconds, the time it takes to spot someone in a crowded room.
Seven minutes, that's how long it takes to find the courage to walk up to that person.
Seven hours, that's a good nights sleep only to wake up missing something.
Seven weeks, the time it takes to fall in love.
Seven months, the moment you realize you are crazy about the other.
Seven years? Almost seven years...

82 days short of seven years.

The Game of Love

Love is a game.
But it's a game without winners.
Sure if you find love, you'll feel like a winner.
But that will turn into a feeling of loss when you lose your lover.

Sure it's better to have loved and lost then to never have loved at all.
But the feeling of losing is never one you'd wish to have.
Even though the love lost happened a while ago.
And you have clearly moved on, it hurts

The date that started it all will come back every year.
And every year it'll feel like a slap in the face.
A humiliating defeat.

Ironically, nothing else can make you feel better than losing again...
In the stupid game of love.

The Moment of Truth

In one second a world seems to happen.
Everything moves to incredibly slow.
Every move you could possibly make flashes before your eyes.
Are you making the right move, will they buy it?

You make your decision and you stand by it.
However it'll turn out it was the best move possible.
Yes...! You've done it your open!
You call for the pass, will they see you?

You get the pass, just one defender in front of you.
Will you try and move past him, or will you pass to another teammate?
You decide to pass... two on one...
The defenceman tries to block the passing lane.

Your teammate fakes the shot from the blue line.
The defenceman takes the bait and you get the pass.
Your out there no one but the goalie to beat.
You deke, make the shot and.....

Time seems to stop...
The puck floats into the far corner...
The goalie reaches for it, but fails....
Goal!

Things to do

Do the laundry and the dishes.
Clean the bathroom and the shower.
Vacuum upstairs and downstairs.
Clear out the mess in the study.

Is this really important or can it wait another day?
But then the other day a bigger and dirtier pile will be looking me right in the face and say...
I'm still here, so what are you going to do about it.

I decide to look away once again.
Just ignore it, it doesn't matter.
Or does it?

Finally I admit that the pile is too big to ignore.
And then, after all the mess has gone I can see that it was important enough to notice after all.

Big Mistake

It's been playing in my mind over and over again.
It's driving me completely insane.
Why did I do what I did, why didn't I see it.
If I could, I would hit the rewind and do it all different.
I would not say or do things I now regret.

But sadly life doesn't work that way.
You just have to live with those stupid mistakes.
You just have to hope you've learned from them.
Because not learning from them would be the biggest mistake you could make.

89

It is very nice to have a goal in life.
Maybe even nicer to achieve it.
It might leave you feeling empty,
or it might fill you with joy.
Does reaching your goal fill you with energy?
Or will it drain all of the juice you have left?
Do you already know your next goal?
Or are you out celebrating this one?
Whatever your goal might be and whenever you may reach it,
It will make no difference at all.
You just have to enjoy every minute of it.

Snow

Like fresh snow our lives come to a point where everything is new.
As beautiful as the world might look, it is a dangerous place.
No footsteps you can follow, everything looks the same.
No path that leads you in the right direction.
It all looks so new.

You hear every footstep as the snow crunches beneath your feet.
You look around waiting for a familiar face to run into.
But not many people are willing to face this situation.
You have to face it alone.

If you are lucky or just stubborn you'll find your way through.
Eventually the snow will melt and other people will come out.
Some familiar faces might have followed your footsteps.
Most of them are totally new to you.

Now that the snow has gone the world doesn't seem to be so scary anymore.

Friday, January 22, 2010

Hurt

I look around, I wonder what just happened.
My head is spinning, it's hard to adjust.
The sharp pain I feel is new, but not unfamiliar.
I have felt it before.

How could I let this happen to me again?
Why wasn't I paying attention?
To be blindsided like that is just stupid.

There is just no denying it, I will get hurt again.
I just have to keep my head up and take the hit.
The pain will go away.

Thursday, January 21, 2010

Help

It's hard to believe how the world works.
Where we lie comfortable in our beds every night,
somewhere else people have lost everything they own and love.
All they know is gone, some people are left with nothing but the clothes on their back.

Is there nothing we can do?
Is there someway we can help?

All around the world heartwarming initiatives take place to help those people in need.
The weird thing is that before this all happened most of these people already were in need.
Their country was already devastated, and a lot of people owned nothing more than the clothes on their backs.

It is really sad to see that it takes war, famine, tsunami, hurricane or earthquake to help these people the way we do now.
Isn't this what we are supposed to do for our fellow man every day?

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

Opposites

Why is it that some things in life are opposite of each other.
On one hand you want something on the other hand you don't really need it.
You are alright with something, but somehow it also bothers you.
Why is this?

Even though some things aren't going anywhere, at some level you wish they would.
You know it really doesn't matte,r but you feel are missing out on something important.
It's just mind boggling why these things are.

Is there a reason for this?
Why do somethings have to be so complicated?
I really can't imagine a reason why.

Why are things that we need sometime the exact opposite of what we want.
Is it because it let's us learn from things or is it because be long for things that are out of reach.

Why does something feel so right when logic says it is so wrong.
Why does logic say you shouldn't do it when your gut says go for it
Why is it always the opposite of what it should be.

Traveling

When you're traveling there are certain things you do.
Whatever you do depends on the length of the journey.
When you're used to making a lot of short trips,
you'll definitely forget to bring things on longer ones.
When it's the other way round, you'll bring too much.

When you're used to those long trips, you learn to plan ahead.
Something that isn't really necessary on short trips.
On short trips you just go with it, you'll be there before you know.
No need to plan, you just need to know when you're leaving.

Sometimes traveling together can be a lot of fun,
a little company on a trip can make the journey more bearable.
If you're both used to those short trips, nobody needs to think of anything.

Traveling with someone who is used to long trips can become a bit awkward.
You're only planning on a short trip and you just brought your ticket,
but the other has brought a boat load of luggage, like you'll never come back.

Not to worry it's easier for people on short trips to adjust to the long hauls.
People who made those long journeys just have to get used to the fact that not all journeys take years to complete, sometimes the next stop is just around the corner.

All out

When you do something, you better do it right.
There's no use doing anything if you don't give it your all.
All out of excuses, regret is often the result.
That regret can haunt you forever.

That's why I'm not holding back.
I'm done looking back at the mistakes I've made.
I've had it feeling sorry for myself.
I won't place the blame on anybody but me.

And there I am, looking in the mirror.
Ready for the challenges ahead.
I'm pushing my limits, not holding back.
I'm going all out, watch out here I come.

Inspired

Sitting at my desk, looking at the blank page before me.
Wondering what will come out of my head this time.
Will it be better than the last, or will I disappoint myself.
Have I ever disappointed myself or am I satisfied with what I've done?
How can I be disappointed when I've written so much?
I'm not, I'm satisfied.

Sometimes it's just hard to come up with something, the inspiration almost gone.
Other times it comes flooding in like a dam that burst. Ideas fill my head.
One word pops out after the other, a million ways to write down what I want to say.
And then it suddenly dries out, it all becomes very silent, my thoughts have stopped.

I read back what I've just put into words, how can anyone not be satisfied with their inspired thoughts put into words? How can you criticize your own feelings?
I know I can't. Sure one might flow better then the other.
But that's not what it's about.
It's all about being inspired.

Lost

You are so close, yet so far away.
The start was great, so was the end
except for the result.

To have worked so hard and be left with nothing?
That is a tough pill to swallow.
The only thing that you were left with is the experience.

The experience of excitement, struggle, great plays,
bad plays, impossible goals, near misses, great saves,
but in the end it was just another loss.

Friday, January 15, 2010

No Regrets

No matter who you are or what you do.
Everybody gets that blast from the past.
A memory, a picture, a song, a postcard,
a surprise encounter with someone from a lifetime ago.

Then you look back at the years past
and think of all the things that have happened since.
How the world has changed but some people haven't.
Or how that dream of yours never came to fruition .

A world of could have beens and might haves flash before your eyes.
It might make you feel sad, or you might be relieved.
But a life not lived as always worse that a life of regret.
No regrets.

The Destination

Some people know exactly what they want.
They've been saying it for as long as they can remember.
Their path in life is set.
Their destination, all figured out.

There are also people who don't know what they want in life.
Maybe a career? or kids? How about traveling round the globe?
It's a total mystery to them.
The path they take is unknown.
The destination, not important.

It's all about the journey.

I'm taking that journey...

Counting the Minutes

I'm Looking at the clock, time passing by so slow.
Why can't it just speed up, tell me I must know.
The waiting drives me crazy, not knowing what's to come.
I'm counting every minute, I know it might sound dumb.

But every minute here, is one minute too much.
It's time I spend in agony, longing for your touch.
My arms wrapped tight around you so that I can show.
Just how much I've missed you and I'm never letting go.

Till then I'll just keep waiting, until the time has past.
Each minute brings me closer, one closer than the last.
And so I sit here thinking of what I'm gonna do.
Thinking of that moment when I set my eyes on you.

What Other People Say

Whatever I do, whatever I say.
Someone else's opinion always comes into play.
Whether it's right or whether it's wrong.
Someone will meddle in my affairs before long.

They'll tell me that and tell me this,
surely that's the insight that I miss.
That's a no and that's a yes,
otherwise it'll be a big mess.

I always listen to what's been said.
Those words keep ringing in my head.
But what I think and what I feel,
That's the only thing what's real.

Well all those people can say a lot,
but follow blindly, I will not.
I'll always keep an open mind,
because good advice is hard to find.

In the end I'll know what's best,
and I'll be laughing at the rest.
I'll let them say whatever they please,
I will come up with my own ideas.

So let it be known that from this day,
I don't care what other people say.

Pitch Black

In the dead of night,
no light to be found.
I move around trying to find my bearings.
I could just as easily be blind.

What should my next move be,
Where should I go.
No direction feels safe,
no path is familiar.

Is this new ground?
I haven't been here before.
At least not for a very long time.
Everything has changed.

The last time was so long ago.
It was all so easy back then.
I wasn't afraid of anything.
Now I second guess every move.

Somebody hit the lights.
Grab my hand,
lead me out of this darkness.
Bring me back to a place I know.

I'm scared

Happy Birthday

As time passes by,
seconds,
minutes,
hours,
days,
weeks
and then another year.

Celebrated every year as it should be.
It's a day to be celebrated, because you've survived yet another year.

Why doesn't it make you feel any different,
because you are still the same person you were before
and will be for years to come.

Happy birthday to everyone who shares this day with me.
Make a great day out of it.

Mixed Signals

People give off signals.
We see and interpret them daily.
When you interact with another you want clarity.
When you don't get clarity it is confusing.

Clarity is important, it shows you what step you can or must take next.
Without clarity you are lost, you stumble around lost for words and not knowing how to act.

But some people can't or won't give you the clarity you need to think straight.
The clarity you need to make those important decisions on how to move on.

They give you mixed signals, and it frustrated the hell out of you.
Because you know, but do they?
Are they acting like they know, or have they no clue at all?

What are you to do next, what is the right step.
You are lost, waiting for that clear signal.
The signal that will tell you it is safe to go forward.

Confirmation

It's hard to make the difficult decisions in life.
You weigh all the possibilities against each other.
Then you come to the conclusion you can't make that decision.
Someone has already made it for you.

At first you struggle with the new situation.
You hate it, you wish everything is like it was before.

Then you get used to the idea. You make the most of it, you like it.

And finally you'll be confronted the old situation. Sure it feels nice and secure. Like nothing has changed.

And there it is.
Confirmation.
The right decision has been made.

Slow

We are always in a hurry.
We want to be there yesterday.
Five minutes feel like hours
and every day we have to wait is one to many.

But then nature steps in.
Heavy snow and freezing temperatures cripple the country.
Traffic jams as far as the eye can see.
It forces us to take it easy, to wait, to be patient.
It forces us to move slow.

Point of View

Where one thinks it's too cold,
the other will think it's just right.
When someone says that a game sucked,
another one will say it was the best ever.
The whole world will say it's illegal,
one country will say it's for research.
It might feel like you're getting old,
but other people will say you're young.
If you think you're doing the right thing,
the other might disagree.
But sometimes you share that same point of view.

Worry

No worries, no trouble in sight.
Live free, no responsibility.
No commitment, nobody to care for.
Nobody but yourself.

You have to care for yourself.
You have a commitment to yourself.
You have a responsibility to yourself.
The biggest trouble in sight is you.
Worry

Goodbye

Goodbye,
The time we had has been great.
The memories of us fill me with warmth.
The love you gave is still around us.

Farewell,
may you find the rest you deserve.
May it be a place of beauty.
May we find a way to cope.

Though your departure has been a sudden blow,
We will celebrate it, not because we are glad to see you go.
No, we are glad to have had you with us.

Goodbye

Lazy Sunday Mornings

No need to wake up,
no need to get up,
no need to get dressed,
no need to shave,
no need to shower,
no need to think about work,
no need to go outside,
no need to get the mail,
no need to do anything.

The world moves so slow on a Sunday morning.

Rain Cheque

The intention of a promise is always more honest than the promise itself.

Where we promise,
we raise expectations.
When we fail to live up to those expectations,
we break those promises.
Eventhough we have all the intentions of keeping the promise made,
we'll take a rain cheque.
Another time perhaps...

Will that time ever come or will that rain cheque be just another good intention.

Innocence

A new year has started.
The old year has passed.
For some a relief,
for others a sad sight.

The new year full of promises.
The old year's promises fulfilled.
Or did those resolutions give you a hangover,
just like one from all of that champagne.

But that won't stop us from taking the new year head first.
Take all those chances we get with both hands.
Because this year is still a virgin, free of guilt, remorse and sorrow.
It still has it's innocence.
